I am pleased to announce the next London DAM Meetup, which will take place on 20 August at 7pm. To join the group and find directions please go to the London DAM Meetup event page. We wanted to give this meeting some structure while allowing us the flexibility to create an agenda as a group. We think this will be an efficient, agile, way to run a Meetup.

What is Lean Coffee™?

Lean Coffee is a structured, but agenda-less meeting. Participants gather, build an agenda, and begin talking. Conversations are directed and productive because the agenda for the meeting was democratically generated” (Lean Coffee Lives Here, n.d.)

What topics can we choose?

Anything that is DAM related is fair game. This includes workflows, change management, best practices, UX, system integration, metadata modeling, etc.

What’s the process like?

Everyone writes down their topic on a post it. We vote for the topics we want to talk about (we each get three votes). Each topic is given 8 minutes for the group to discuss, but this can be extended for a few more minutes if everyone wants to keep talking about it. Our meeting will last for about an hour.

What do you think of this structure for the London DAM Meetup? Are there any other meeting formats you enjoy?
